Online Therapy in Colorado and California

Online therapy can be a convenient and meaningful way to receive support, especially if you have a full schedule, travel often, live outside a major city, or feel more comfortable meeting from your own space.

I offer secure online psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are physically located in Colorado or California at the time of session.

What Online Therapy With Me Is Like

Online therapy with me is conversational, engaged, and collaborative. We meet by secure video, and you can join from a private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly.

Although we are not in the same room, the work can still be personal, relational, and emotionally present. I pay attention not only to what you say, but also to patterns, emotional shifts, body cues, nervous system responses, and the way old experiences may be showing up in your current life and relationships.

For individual therapy, online sessions may include talking, reflection, somatic awareness, EMDR when appropriate, parts work, and practical ways to support yourself between sessions.

For couples therapy, online sessions can help slow down the patterns you get caught in, make room for each person’s experience, and support more honest, less reactive communication. Couples need to join from a private space where both partners can participate safely and without interruption.

Online therapy tends to work best when you have a reliable internet connection, a private room, and enough emotional space before and after session to transition back into your day.

Is Online Therapy a Good Fit?

Online therapy can work well for many individuals and couples, but it is not appropriate for every situation.

My online therapy services are best suited for clients who are not currently in crisis and who are seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, professional stress, life transitions, and personal growth.

To participate in online therapy, you need to be able to meet from a private, safe location, have reliable internet access, and be able to manage your safety between sessions.

When Online Therapy Is Not Appropriate

I do not provide crisis services or emergency mental health care.

Online therapy with me is not appropriate if you are currently experiencing, or have recently experienced, any of the following:

  • active suicidal thoughts, intent, or plan

  • homicidal thoughts, intent, or plan

  • recent violent behavior or fear that you may harm someone

  • psychosis, hallucinations, or delusions

  • mania or symptoms of bipolar disorder that are not currently stable

  • severe depression that interferes with basic safety or daily functioning

  • severe panic symptoms that require immediate or intensive support

  • severe substance use or alcohol dependence

  • an eating disorder requiring medical monitoring or a higher level of care

  • a personality disorder or other condition requiring intensive, specialized, or in-person treatment

  • any situation where you may need emergency, intensive outpatient, inpatient, or in-person care

If you are experiencing any of these concerns, online therapy may not provide the level of support or safety you need. In-person therapy, a higher level of care, or a specialized treatment program may be more appropriate.

If You Are in Crisis

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or call/text 988 for crisis support.

During our initial consultation, we can talk about whether online therapy is an appropriate fit. If I believe your needs would be better served by crisis care, in-person treatment, or a higher level of support, I will let you know and help you think through next steps when possible.

Before We Begin

During our initial consultation, we can talk about what you are looking for and whether online therapy feels like an appropriate fit. If your needs would be better served by in-person, intensive, or specialized care, I will do my best to help you think through next steps and referrals.
