PLANNING YOUR MOVE TO DENVER

Why move to Denver?

Denver (including its metro area) is one of the top three relocating destinations in the country.

With a strong job and income growth in recent years, family-friendly neighborhoods and activities, good schools, beautiful scenery, and access to some of the best skiing and mountain climbing in the world, it's no wonder so many people want to move here.

Many articles online list reasons why move to Denver such as:

Whatever your reasons to move to Denver, relocating in a different city or country is usually stressful, especially when you try to sift through relevant information online. I know... I've been there.

Resources for Relocation in Denver

Here's a list of resources and advice I wish I had found when I moved here.

The city's official site offers a lot of information useful to know before moving to Denver. It includes a list and a short description of all the main neighborhoods in the city and the metro area that can help you figure out where to live.

If you come from a lower altitude area, take a look at these tips to adjust to Denver's higher altitude.
And if you have a dog, you'll like to know about hotels and parks that are dog-friendly.

If you're a mom, I suggest you join a Facebook group to ask questions to local moms about daycare, schools, family-friendly neighborhoods... such as Denver MomsOnce you're in the city, you can join one of the local Meet up groups based on your interests or parenting style.

The Mile High City has long been a hot spot of gay culture. You can find additional information at the Denver LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

And for special needs resources, here's an extensive list.

Finally, the Denver Chamber of Commerce offers a free relocation guide you can access online or request in print version.

I hope these resources will be helpful to adjust to your new life in Denver. I'll be adding more tips and information soon.
